The TCNJ School of Business ranks #53 among the Top 100 Undergraduate Business Programs in 2025, according to Poets and Quants, and has held a Top 100 position for fifteen years. Position Overview:
The Department of Management in the School of Business at The College of New Jersey (TCNJ) invites applications for a full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Operations and Supply Chain Management starting August 2026.
A Ph.D. in Supply Chain Management or related discipline from an AACSB-accredited institution or equivalent i s required for appointment. ABD candidates may be considered only on the condition of full doctoral completion by August 2026. Primary teaching responsibilities include undergraduate and master's-level courses in operations and supply chain management, with a preference for specialization in purchasing and procurement. The successful candidate must (a) demonstrate an ability to provide highly effective teaching, (b) have a commitment to conducting high-quality empirical research in the area of specialization and publish in peer-reviewed journals consistent with the standards of AACSB, (c) advise and mentor students, and (d) engage in service to the college community. The School of Business particularly values experiential, student-centered, and innovative teaching approaches and expects faculty to conduct active, engaged classrooms.
Candidates should be committed to further enhancing our collegial environment among all students and faculty demonstrated through culturally responsive course design and pedagogy, equity-minded student engagement and mentorship, and development of intercultural competencies needed for meaningful citizenship.
The Department of Management supports undergraduate management concentrations and minors in the following areas: Management, Human Resources Management, Supply Chain Management, Leadership, Business Studies, and Sports Management and Communication. It also supports the MBA track in Strategy, Innovation, and Leadership, as well as a new Master of Science in Management and Organizations.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Ph.D. in Supply Chain Management or related discipline from an AACSB-accredited institution or equivalent (ABD candidates may be considered only on the condition of full doctoral completion by August 2026).
• Possess a portfolio of teaching or industry experience, and demonstrate a teaching philosophy that is conducive to delivering effective management courses at both undergraduate and graduate levels.
• Demonstrate evidence of scholarly achievement, including a commitment to high-quality empirical research and the ability to publish in peer-reviewed journals.
Preferred:
• Interest or specialization in one or more of the following areas: supply chain management, purchasing and procurement, operations management, or related topics , including but not limited to AI, data analytics, and the future of work.
• Experience or capability to develop new courses and programs at both undergraduate and graduate levels in these areas, for delivery in both in-person and online modalities.
