POSITION SUMMARY
The Shipping & Logistics Specialist is responsible for the dedicated handling of jewelry shipping, replenishment, receiving, and inventory reconciliation for cruise lines, trunk shows, retailers, and special orders. This role is critical to ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and security when shipping high-value jewelry domestically and internationally. Success in this position requires precision, organizational strength, communication skills, and adherence to established SOPs. Specialists must be comfortable managing inventory cycles, working with couriers and port agents, and escalating issues when necessary.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare, pack, and ship jewelry for replenishments, consignment, special orders, trunk shows, and cruise line operations.
- Verify style numbers, tags, and quantities against inventory lists, ensuring zero discrepancies.
- Use tamper-proof packing, armored couriers, and port agents for secure transport.
- Receive and offload shipments, reconciling against invoices, style lists, and images before returning to inventory.
- Track and update inventory through the proprietary system, maintaining clear email documentation for audit purposes.
- Perform monthly reconciliations with cruise representatives and internal teams to confirm counts.
- Communicate shipment status and escalate issues such as damages, missing items, or customs delays.
- Coordinate with sales reps, couriers, and internal stakeholders to ensure shipments meet deadlines.
- Support efficiency by organizing shipping/inventory areas, labeling zones, and maintaining ergonomic tools for handling.
- Cross-train with fellow Shipping & Logistics Specialist to ensure full departmental coverage during absences, high-volume replenishments, or peak season.
- Adhere to all SOPs for jewelry shipments, consignment handling, customs, and escalation protocols.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and accountability when handling high-value jewelry.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 2–3 years of experience in shipping, logistics, or related operations.
- Experience with jewelry consignment, replenishment, or cruise/retail shipping is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy when reconciling inventory.
- Proficiency with FedEx/DHL shipping systems; ability to learn proprietary software quickly.
- Highly organized, able to manage high-volume shipments (100+ pieces per replenishment).
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills; able to escalate appropriately.
- Reliable, trustworthy, and comfortable in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to lift, carry, and move boxes weighing up to 50 lbs safely.
- Frequent standing, walking, and movement throughout the workday.
- Regular bending, stooping, reaching, and handling of jewelry trays and shipping cartons.
- Manual dexterity required for tagging, packing, and inspecting jewelry pieces.
- Ability to push/pull carts and use ergonomic equipment for transporting shipments.
- Must be able to maintain focus and accuracy during repetitive physical tasks in a fast-paced environment.
WORKING CONDITIONS/ENVIRONMENT
- Location: On-site in Great Neck, NY.
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–6:00 PM.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
- Hourly Range: $24.04 – $28.85/hour ($50,000 – $60,000 annually, based on experience).
- Healthcare: Health stipend up to $500/month (post 90-day probation).
- PTO: 20 days annually (vacation, sick, holiday, and personal days combined, accrued after probation).
