POSITION SUMMARY & RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

In this role, you will manage Royal Cup’s Coffee, Tea, and Allied Categories across multiple channels. You will develop annual and long-term strategic plans that include renovation, packaging, pricing, and growth initiatives. You will own the product life cycle and provide a roadmap to the sales team to fuel the product pipeline. You will drive continuous optimization of the portfolio that meets customer demand and supports operational excellence. You will lead cross-functional team projects in support of category objectives. This role will have one direct report, a Marketing Associate, and will report to the VP of Marketing.

 

Key responsibilities include:

 

Portfolio Management

  • Develops in-depth knowledge of category offerings, both private label, and brands, and identifies compelling value propositions that resonate with customers and deliver business goals.
  • Serves as the category ambassador and collaborative business partner for Sales, Allied, Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, FP&A, Commodities, and develops Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Generates category and product trend updates for Period Reviews, the Operations Committee, and FS Leadership Team Meetings.

Commercialization

  • Oversee product launch process including identifying unmet consumer needs, creating, and testing concepts, artwork and packaging development, product certifications, and product positioning.
  • Translates market and category trends into tangible, value add business opportunities.

Analytics

  • Leads quantitative and qualitative category and brand performance analysis, using sales performance, financial analysis, and market research and insights to understand key business metrics, and reports and makes recommendations to improve performance.
  • Maintains an in-depth understanding of the categories, gleaning insights, and growth opportunities.

Marketing Collateral and Support Tools

  • Partners collaboratively with Sales, Allied, and Equipment to create category-specific plans. Create product launch materials and training documentation, working across functions to deliver against key performance indicators.

Innovation

  • Supports VP of Marketing by executing Innovation Roadmap.

Requirements

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or another related field. Master of Business Administration (MBA) preferred.
  • 10+ Years of relevant experience in the foodservice industry and B2B Marketing preferred. (Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.)
  • Coffee or Tea experience a plus
  • Able to deal with ambiguity and problem solve; highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated understanding of beverage manufacturing, procurement, marketing & insights, product pricing, and sales principles.
  • Knowledge of interdepartmental functions.
  • Strong business and financial acumen and analytical skills.
  • Strategic thinker who can translate insights and vision into an operational plan.
  • Leadership strengths must include inspiring trust, transparency, and teamwork with cross-functional resources and management.
  • Capability to influence and gain consensus with diverse teams and/or individuals from the business, including members of Executive Leadership.
  • Proficient (or ability to learn) MS Project, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, SharePoint, and Visio.
  • Ability to travel up to 40% as required based on business needs, often requiring overnight stay to attend meetings, trade shows, training, and other work-related events as scheduled.
  • Some physical requirements may include
    • Frequent sitting, standing, walking, reaching, typing, reading, talking, and hearing.
    • The ability to lift up to 15 pounds.
  • Ability to successfully complete the pre-employment process
