The Emory University Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics is seeking a Vice Chair of Quality. The next Vice Chair of Quality will be a leader who will work with the Department Chair and Department Administrator to provide oversight, coordination and leadership for quality initiatives across all the Department’s clinical sites and will also be closely integrated into the overall Quality team for Emory Healthcare. This includes establishing quality strategic goals and identifying metrics that will evaluate goal achievement and optimizing performance on priority measures across all sites within the Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics. This position will hold the rank of Associate Professor or Professor, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Key responsibilities of the Vice Chair of Quality include:
Utilize ACOG guidelines to standardize policies, procedures and ensure compliance in all areas that service obstetric and gynecologic patients
Identify nationally recognized metrics and ensure that these metrics are implemented, with performance monitoring across the operating units of Emory Healthcare, Grady Health System and the VA.
Aim Bundles endorsed by ACOG will be utilized for priority metrics
Quality metrics from CMS core measures, QHIP, and other payor-based programs will be included
Establish and refine Identify instances in which current performance on agreed upon metrics is considered sub-optimal. In these cases, performance improvement projects will be identified, implemented and followed for results. Successful projects will be catalogued with plans for widespread adoption of successful improvement steps.
Lead GYNOB Quality Committee and ensure that initiatives/recommendations of the Council are prioritized, operationalized and disseminated to Work to ensure that the department meets the Vizient goals/metrics as set by the quality leadership at Emory Healthcare
Collaborate and closely align with quality leadership at Emory Healthcare, Grady Health System, and the VA to review key performance indicators to identify opportunities for obstetrics and gynecology quality improvement and clinical effectiveness projects.
Review daily SAFE reports from all EHC GYNOB locations and identify any opportunities to develop improved processes
Requirements
Qualifications:
Successful completion of a terminal degree (MD or DO)
Graduate of an accredited ACGME obstetrics and gynecology residency
ABOG board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and board certification in subspecialty if applicable
Meet criteria/qualifications for Credentialing and Privileges
Candidates must qualify to hold the rank of Associate Professor or Professor
Licensure by the Georgia Composite Medical Board will be required prior to commencement of employment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Demonstrated leadership skills necessary to complement and expand the existing programs.
At least five years’ experience in an academic practice
Demonstrated experience in oversight, coordination, and leadership for quality initiatives
