 We are seeking a self-motivated Quality Assurance Supervisor with a great attitude who must be able to work alone and alongside others in every other department of the company. Work includes: routine repetitive inspections; scheduling, maintaining and spear-heading internal audits; working with external auditors and inspections; root cause analysis and troubleshooting problems; maintaining the company QMS and document control; finding efficiencies within flexibility is a must.

 We are seeking someone with a minimum of 5 years of QA experience in an AS9100 or ISO9001 composite material manufacturing environment. Individuals applying for this position should have strong leadership skills and would benefit from having previous exposure to some or all the below Skills and Responsibilities.


Required Skills and Responsibilities:

  • Maintains the Composite Approach Quality Management System
  • Analyze material or product for dimensional accuracy, correct fiber orientation and defects
  • Perform or lead in-process inspections per customer specification and/or current technical drawings
  • Perform or lead inspections and tests of suppliers’ parts prior to being received into inventory when applicable
  • Analyze inbound material to verify proper specifications prior to release to production
  • Work with engineering to evaluate and monitor prototype items as needed
  • Able to lead and train small teams of quality inspectors
  • Work from process sheets, or verbal instructions identifying the type and sequence of operations needed to construct a variety of parts used to produce composite structures to meet contractual requirements
  • Prepare tooling/fixturing used for testing fabrication and coupon testing
  • Verify work using measuring tools, height gauges, dial indicators, micrometers, etc.
  • Maintain calibration system for measuring tools, height gauges, dial indicators, micrometers, scales, etc.
  • Above-average attention to detail to complete paperwork as needed to create part documentation and enforce document control
  • Assign and review Corrective Action Reports
  • Administers the nonconforming material procedure and lead the Material Review Board
  • Coordinate and conduct internal audits, including post-mortem analyses of results
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as required

 Additional Requirements are:

  • Maintain effective housekeeping in area of work and share in general shop cleanliness
  • Observe all safety rules and regulations
  • Demonstrate ability to communicate, both verbally and in writing, with all levels of individuals within and outside the company, to maximize equipment, manufacturing reliability, and productivity 
  • Computer skills including electronic messaging, basic understanding of Microsoft Office – Power Point, Excel and Word
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, instructions, technical drawings and standard operating procedure manuals
  • Represent Composite Approach, as a visible member of the team, in a professional manner that is in line with the standards and values of our company’s culture
  • Communicate directly with customers on quality issues
  • Willingness to learn, be flexible, and take on new tasks
  • Assist in improving process, equipment dependability, and productivity
  • Available normal business hours with occasional weekend/overtime work totaling 40 or more hours/week
  • Able to read, write and speak English fluently

 Working Environment:

  • Meet physical requirements including ability to: lift 50lbs, bend/stoop, twist, crouch/squat, kneel, crawl, walk on even and uneven surfaces, climb steps and ladders, work at heights, reach above and below shoulder, and able to grasp objects
  • Dusty conditions: this position deals with operations such as: sanding, cutting and trimming of composite materials in general work proximity – PPE provided and required
