Your Position:

Your Responsibilities

As an Additive Manufacturing Lead for Intelligent Solutions Group (ISG) located in Moline, IL, you will be the Enterprise lead for Additive manufacturing; responsible for long term strategy; road map creation and execution for productionizing Additive throughout the Enterprise by identifying right technologies, materials, suppliers and external collaborators.  In addition, you will...

  • Develop business case for adoption of Additive using appropriate metrics including improved product functionality, cost curves compared to traditional processing, digital and on-demand manufacturing
  • Additive Manufacturing Technology Development Process Lead; Evaluate new machines/processes and technologies in Additive Manufacturing and drive their adoption in partnership with Business units, Product design centers, manufacturing organizations by delivering proof of concepts/prototypes
  • Educate, train, and demonstrate the benefits of Additive manufacturing to DE, ME, supply management and senior leadership
  • Identify, Justify, and bring onboard business ready Additive technologies to the Technical center, design centers and business units

What Skills You Need

  • Demonstrable industry leading expertise in Additive manufacturing through inventions/key note talks/publication of technical papers and standards
  • Proven strategic thinker on the confluence of Additive technologies, traditional methods and their growth trajectories
  • Excellent Verbal, written and Presentation capabilities; ability to convey complex technical/business issues to wide range of audience including engineering, supply management, managers, and senior leaders
  • Track record of deploying additive technologies/processes in manufacturing and product design centers
  • Excellent understanding of cost drivers of additive processes and development of cost models for them and ability to forecast cost curves for raw materials, printer equipment based on industry knowledge
  • Minimum of 10 years hands on experience in design, printing and post processing in Fused deposition modeling, Direct Metal laser sintering, SLS, SLA, DED, LSAM technologies
  • Deep understanding of design techniques including modelling, design for manufacturability for additive technologies
  • Business knowledge of supply chain management, including costs, contracts, negotiations, contract manufacturing and machine/part purchase terms & conditions
  • Act as a mentor for partners, engineers/supervisors, managers, supply management and additive center staff involved in adopting and deploying AM technologies
  • Ability to quickly learn new additive technologies, solve complex technical and business problems associated with their launch and transfer to business units
  • Excellent understanding of Additive materials (Polymers, metals, ceramics) their processing techniques, properties achieved and their engineering applications

  • Broad understanding of traditional manufacturing processes, their advantages and limitations, costs
  • In depth knowledge of product development processes including Design, Virtual validation, Physical validation, and New Product introduction
  • Project Leadership skills and leading cross functional teams is a must
  • Self-Starter, Independent thinker, quick learner, and ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Problem solving proficiency and excellent analytical skills for resolving technical problems and removing project roadblocks
  • Ability to influence without authority, work in teams with different functionalities to complete tactical issues as well as achieve long term objectives
  • Experience working with global work force in varying time zones and different cultures is required


Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:

  • Bachelor’s in Engineering with 15 years’ industry experience OR a Master’s in mechanical/manufacturing engineering with 10 years industry experience
